- The newspaper regulatory body is ipso they create the rules and codes of practice that newspapers have to follow they also take all complaints about newspapers and will then take action and help.The products are regulated by editors code of practice,they base it on the following regulations ; Accuracy , Privacy, Harassment,Intrusion into grief or shock and Reporting suicide,Children,Children in sex cases,Hospitals,Reporting of crime,Clandestine devices and subterfuge,Victims of sexual assault,Discrimination,Financial journalism,Confidential sources,Witness payments in criminal trials and payment to criminals.An example of the complaints process is. Gillian Chapman complained to the Independent Press Standards Organisation that the Daily Mirror breached Clause 1 (Accuracy) of the Editors’ Code of Practice in an article headlined “Suicide over menopause”, published on 30 June 2018.
