Equity-Equity is the trade union that protects actors for example if the production company does not have insurance and the actor gets injured during filming equity will protect them and take the production company to court in order to get the actor the money he is owed


BECTU-Bectu is the trade union for media and entertainment,The Unions equality and diversity Committee is a focal point for the unions efforts to encourage more women to participate fully in developing policies and initiatives

PACT-Pact is the association representing the commercial interests of UK independent television,film,digital,children's and animation media companies Pact is socially responsible and seeks to influence the wider industry to commit to diversity on and off the screen.  Pact works closely with broadcasters and producers' groups to create training opportunities and promote fair access for all. 


Legal Requirements

All productions, international and domestic, need proof of Public Liability Insurance in order to receive permission to film or carry out commercial photography.

This insurance covers the legal responsibilities of your production if your activities cause injury to a third party or damage to property.

Health and safety-Risk assessment is a fundamental part of managing health and safety and helps you to identify hazards and control the risk they create for those involved in your production

Working with children-It is a legal requirement that the child be supervised at all times by their parent/carer/legal guardian or a licensed chaperone.If you are filming with children of compulsory school age it is important that you check whether the actor will require a Child Performance Licence
